SHCC in 2021
Well, it has been a crazy year for sure. Things many of us never thought could possibly happen, did happen. It has been a year of struggle, disappointment, and loss for many. Just because the year has changed, does not mean that all those things will just go away. We may still be dealing with some of these same issues, but the new year does give us a perfect opportunity to focus on what is ahead and not what is behind.
Isaiah 43:18-19- “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."
God is telling Israel even though there have been bad things in the past, He is ready to start new. It is time to start a new thing. That is the same for us. We cannot do anything about 2020, but we sure can make a difference in 2021.
Our theme for this year is GROW. I am hoping that you will decide to grow in some spiritual area in your life. Maybe it is growing by staying in God’s Word. Maybe it is growing in your prayer life. Maybe it is growing in areas of service. Whatever area it is, I hope you choose to GROW this year.
To help you grow in some areas, we are continuing to provide resources in our weekly email. One of our newer resources, is a monthly article about the missions we support. It is called Missions Walk. We are hoping you will grow in your knowledge and prayer of these missions. We also have our weekly article called Cross Points that will help you grow as well.
Things will continue to look different as far as activities and events we offer this year as a church, but God has continued to bless us even through all the difficulties. I want to say thank you to all of you that have been faithful in your support of the ministry here at SHCC. Despite all the struggles, we as a church are in a great position to continue our mission and reach people for Jesus here in Laclede county.
If you are looking at how you can get connected here at SHCC, let us know and we will help you get plugged in. There are great things ahead as we look forward to the new things God is doing. We will see those come to fruition as we continue to Love God, Love People and Share Jesus in Laclede County.
