Wednesday Night Drivers
Here is the driving rotation for Winter/Spring 2021.
You will also receive weekly text and email reminders. Please click on the link in the text, or click on the button in the email, to either "Accept" or "Decline" that week's driving so we know if you are available, or if we need to find a substitute.
There will be a clipboard in the office with highlighted names and addresses of students who have been approved for pickup that day; take that with you on your route. (Parents must respond to my text saying their child needs a ride to Youth Group). No other "friends" or unapproved students are allowed to ride the van...without parent approval and consent forms filled out, we can be accused of kidnapping. So if a friend wants to attend, their parent can bring them, fill out the consent form, and be added to the pick-up list if they live outside of Lebanon.
Our Drivers must go in pairs so that no adult is alone with a student, which is a safety measure for all involved. It is up to each pair to decide who drives and who rides "shotgun". The passenger will also help keep the students in line in a positive manner.
Drivers must be ready to leave in the church van from SHCC at 5:30pm, make the 4 or 5 stops in Phillipsburg, and return no later than 6:30pm. Then be ready to leave the church again at 8pm to bring them home. And then park the van in the Bus Barn, lock it up and return the keys and clipboard to the office.
IF for some reason the van is low on gas, either when leaving or when returning back to church, you may fill it up at Champion Express by Wal-Mart. They have a list of all of your names for prior approval (plus seeing the church van parked at the pump). Gas up, go in and tell them its for Southern Heights, sign the receipt and leave a copy on the clipboard for me.
Thank you for your willingness to serve in this ministry! Because of you, 10-12 students who do not have a church home are able to attend and learn about Jesus!
