What Should I Expect? (FAQ)

What Do I Wear?

People at SHCC typically dress casual on Sunday mornings. So, feel free to throw on shorts/jeans and a t-shirt and you’ll fit right in.

Will I Have To Identify Myself or Be Called Out?

We want to do everything possible to make attending SHCC for the first time as comfortable as possible. Therefore, you’ll never be asked to stand up or stand out in any way. Feel free to sit back, relax and enjoy the service.

Am I Expected to Give Money?

No, the offering is a time for our members and regular attenders to respond to God through giving. As our guest, feel free to let the offering baskets pass you by. Our service is a gift to you.

What Should I Expect During a Sunday Service?

A typical service will last about 70 minutes and will begin with music led by a live band. Words for each song will be projected onto a large screen and many people will sing along. You are welcome to participate however you feel comfortable.
One of our pastors will then share an engaging message from the Bible. The pastor will simply explain everything and will help you take a verse or story from the Bible and make a meaningful connection to your life.
At the end of service, we will take communion. Communion is an opportunity to respond to God and reflect on what you learned that day.
There will be an opportunity to give to the church financially every Sunday. The offering is a time for those who consider Southern Heights Christian Church their church home to respond to God through giving. As our guest, you are not expected to give.
After the service we’d like to invite you to stop by the area just outside the worship center at the Resource Desk, where you can learn more about the church and find ways to get connected at SHCC.

What's the Music Like?

Our worship music is modern, and our worship team sings with a band that plays guitars, drums and keyboards. Our worship and creative arts team will lead a meaningful time of singing with the words projected on the screens to make it easy to follow along.
